Do you insure 98-year-olds?

Published: Apr 18, 2018

R.G. from IL asks: My 98-year-old mother and I are going on trip. Do you insure 98-year-olds?

Dan answers: It is true that some companies have age limitations, but we still have a dozen companies that can insure this trip. For a $5,000 trip cost for a 98-year-old from Illinois, the premiums begin at $544 for a basic trip cancellation plan. However, for $617 you can get a great trip cancellation plan that includes $150,000 primary medical with no deductible, $500,000 emergency evacuation, a waiver of pre-existing medical conditions if purchased within 20 days of the first trip payment or deposit — plus baggage, baggage delay, and travel delay benefits. We recommended that Mom get the plan with the $617 premium.

Please email us or call with your travel insurance questions. We’ll try our best to find you the policy that does what you need it to do and to make sure it provides the benefits that will protect you best and for the best price.

Had a great experience purchasing trip insurance. The agent was very friendly, helpful, and fully explained the different options. Will be back! - Robert K.
