If you’re headed to a hurricane-prone area, make sure your travel insurance policy includes trip cancellation due to a hurricane.
Many policies say customers may qualify for trip cancellation benefits if their travel supplier experienced a complete cessation of services for at least 24 consecutive hours due to inclement weather.
Travel Guard Gold, however, will cover trip cancellation due to a hurricane — period. This popular plan does not require that your travel suppliers cease services. You’d be covered if you cancelled because a named hurricane has popped up where you’re traveling. Travel Guard Gold’s policy language simply states: Inclement weather causing delay or cancellation of travel.
Had a great experience purchasing trip insurance. The agent was very friendly, helpful, and fully explained the different options. Will be back! - Robert K.
